Information we process
Chrome Language processes the following information:
- Account information: When you sign in with Google, our authentication provider receives information associated with your Google account, such as your email address, name, profile image, and a unique account identifier.
- Learning preferences: Your selected language, skill level, learning style, native language, and prompt frequency.
- Learning activity: Generated exercises, answers you submit, feedback, progress, streaks, and experience points.
- Technical information: Our service providers may process limited operational information, such as IP addresses, request timestamps, authentication identifiers, and error logs, to operate and secure the service.
How we use information
We use this information only to:
- Authenticate your account and protect access to the service.
- Generate exercises suited to your language preferences and skill level.
- Evaluate answers and provide learning feedback.
- Save your preferences and progress on your device.
- Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and prevent abuse of the service.
Local storage
Learning preferences, progress, exercise attempts, pending prompts, and authentication session data are stored in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. You can remove this local data by clearing the extension's storage or uninstalling Chrome Language.
Service providers and data sharing
We share information only with service providers needed to deliver Chrome Language:
- Google: Provides the Google sign-in flow you choose to use.
- Supabase: Provides authentication and account session management.
- Amazon Web Services: Hosts the Chrome Language API and processes exercise requests through Amazon Bedrock.
Exercise settings and submitted answers are sent securely to the Chrome Language API and processed by Amazon Web Services to generate prompts and feedback. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the security of the service, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
Browsing activity
Chrome Language does not collect your browsing history, the contents of websites you visit, or your activity on unrelated websites.
Data retention and deletion
Data stored locally remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the extension. Authentication account information is retained while your account remains active. Operational logs may be retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
To request deletion of your Chrome Language account and associated authentication data, email support@chromelanguage.com. We may need to verify that you control the account before completing the request.
Security
Chrome Language transmits information using HTTPS. We use authentication, request validation, rate limiting, and access controls intended to protect the service. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children's privacy
Chrome Language is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to the service.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
Chrome Language's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We may update this policy as Chrome Language changes. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update its effective date.
